Instant Replay Blinking cursor

Instant Replay Blinking cursor

Instant Replay Blinking cursor

Applies to:

Instant Replay 2 (DR-600) and some older Instant Replay models.

WARNING: All power from the unit must be removed prior to attempting any servicing of the equipment.

Symptom:

When booting the Instant Replay, the unit stops with the cursor blinking and the level meters showing all LED’s lit.

Possible Reason(s):

This is an indication that the DSP is not able to load the boot up code.   On the Instant Replay 2 this could indicate an overheating condition or a failed DSP or RAM chip on the main board.

On older DR-554 units, this could indicate that the memory module is unseated or failed or the main processor on the board has failed.

Solution(s):

Allow the unit to cool off sufficiently and restart the unit.

On older models (pre DR-600), open the unit and check that the memory module is seated or reseat the memory module.

If the issue persists, repair or replacement of the main board may be necessary.
