Instant Replay 3 or DigiCart 5 – Unable to delete folder

Applies to:

Instant Replay model DR-1000 or DigiCart model DC-5000

Symptom:

Attempting to delete a folder causes the error message: Error removing file(s) Please verify the files exist or the folder is empty

Possible Reason(s): 

  1. If any of the clips that were in the folder are still active, (loaded as the active clip, buffered on a hot key) the system will show the files deleted but does not actually delete the files until they are released.  
  2. If there is a hidden or non audio file in the directory.    If files are placed on the system from a remote source via FTP or file sharing, it is possible for non audio files to be placed on the system.   Some automated FTP clients will place additional files after a transfer by default.  
  3. Files that start with a period “.” are considered hidden by the system.   If a file was accidentally renamed with a period at the start, it will no longer display.  

Solution(s):

  1. Chang the current clip to a different clip and reloading the current bank by switching to a different bank and back again.
  2. Reboot the system. 
  3. Log in through FTP or file sharing to the system and review what is in the folder.  Make sure the client is set to display hidden and system files so that anything in the folder will show.   Delete any unwanted files.

After these methods are done, deletion of the directory folder should be possible.
